We accept Child Dental Benefits Schedule at Karrinyup Dental Centre
Give Your Child the Gift of Healthy Oral Health Care With the CDBS
The CDBS is a Medicare program that provides children aged 0 to 17 years with access to basic dental services with a benefit cap of $1,052 (cap amount as of 1 January 2023) over two consecutive calendar years.
This scheme covers various necessary services, such as exams, x-rays, cleanings, fissure sealants, fillings, extractions, and root canals. Unfortunately, the CDBS does not cover cosmetic services, orthodontic treatments, or hospital dental care.
If your child is eligible for Medicare, they are most likely eligible for the CDBS. The good thing about CDBS is that if your child is eligible, Medicare will send you a notice.
How Does the Child Dental Benefits Schedule Work?
Book an appointment
Schedule an appointment with Karrinyup Dental Centre and inform us of your intention to use the Child Dental Benefits Schedule for your child's dental needs.
Attend your appointment
Bring your Medicare card to the appointment. The dentist will examine your child and offer a treatment plan that is suitable for them. Furthermore, they'll provide you with an estimated cost associated with the procedure.
Enjoy the treatment
You will be asked to sign the consent form to allow the dentist to proceed with the treatment. Once this is done, your child will receive the necessary dental care they need.
Easy claims with HICAPS
One of our staff members will process the claim through HICAPS. They will tap or swipe your Medicare card, and your child’s CDBS benefits will be applied on the spot.
